here are a few movies that everyone should watch, esp if you have a philosophical bend.
1. Waking Life (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0243017/)
The movie is about a young dude in a lucid dream state, in the dream he has philosophical disscussions, and tries very hard to wake up.
Some of the discussions pose important questions about humanity.
The movie is a must see for anyone who is trying to discover themselves

2. The Man from Earth (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/)
wont say anything about this movie .. See it Period.
3. The Fountain (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414993/)
A difficult to comprehend if you miss even a dialog Love Story. I was almost in tears at the end. Fantastic. ( I know lot of people that did not understand the flick at all)
btw i do have all three with me .. Trying to get HD versions (Blue Ray or DVD)
Have fun watching them .. Not recomended for children as the content may not make any sense to them (no nudity or anything of that sort in all three.. Its just that the content is not suitable for any one under 15.)

Hi Boss
ReplyDelete1. Waking Life - I have added to my Netflix account, will wait to come up in the queue!
2. The man from Earth - This one I can watch on-line anytime through the same Netflix. Looks interesting, so I might watch this weekend itself.
3. The Fountain - I think I will pass on this, looks kinda serious.
BTW, since we are talking about movies, I can not resist, I watched Gran Torino last weekend. If you like Clint Eastwood, you will love his last movie as an actor. The movie has lot of racial slur, but very well directed and very hilarious. Must see for an Eastwood fan. At 78 he's still got it!
Thanks for the list, will let you know.
Seen Gran Torino, liked the flick. Eastwood looks and plays the part perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThere are many more movies that i could recommend (movies that make you think) if you like the 3 above.

okis i have not been thru any of the flicks mentioned out there... but have read fountain head... and i vouch that one must first read the book... it will give you some kick in your life... (the idea of reading the book is not to take away any of the glory of the movie it would be)
ReplyDeletei strongly recommend each and every one out there on the 11C to grab this book this is a must do... and guess Cirvesh jijaji will be able to tell more on this book.

Threads are in your hand. Go to the "source" ie figure out the basis for any idea that you hold true. if you can go deeper then you have not reached the core idea/thought. There are no conflicts in original thought. Find the starting point of the thread and it will untangle its self
take care all
